Every call to the REST API, to [Tools RPC](/docs/guides/tools-rpc/) and to the
[MCP server](/docs/guides/mcp/) is paid in a single unit, the **credit**. A
company profile costs 1 credit. The same call costs the same number of credits
on all three surfaces.

Credits belong to the **organization**: every API key and every member (up to 5)
draws on the same balance.

Subscription credits are valid until the end of the paid period, with no
rollover. VAT not applicable, article 293 B of the French General Tax Code. Plan

Data on funds and deals is not offered at this stage.

### Worked example

A search returning 20 results, with 2 public fields requested (for instance
revenue and net income):

- 0.1 credit per result, plus 0.1 per public field, i.e. 0.3 credit per row;
- 20 × 0.3 = **6 credits**.

On the €49 subscription (10,000 credits), this search costs about €0.03 excl. VAT.

## Counting rules

- **You pay for what is served.** Only the data actually returned is charged.
- **Empty section, free section.** Missing data (no filed accounts, no event)
  costs nothing.
- **Errors are free.** A call that ends in an error is never charged.
- **Free re-reads within 24 hours.** Reading the same data on the same company,
  for the same organization, within 24 hours of its first charge costs nothing.
- **Maximum cost reserved, actual cost charged.** Before serving a request,
  Insourcia reserves its maximum cost. If the balance does not cover that
  maximum, the whole request is refused, even if its actual cost would have been
  lower. Only the actual cost is then charged and the rest is released.
- **Order of consumption.** Subscription credits, or failing that free credits,
  are used first; top-up credits next.
- **Automatic top-up.** It triggers a top-up of the chosen amount as soon as the
  balance falls below a threshold. It is set up in the Billing area of the app.

Every response shows the credits charged and the remaining balance. The charge
history is available in the Billing area.

## Data reserved to subscribers

The credit risk score, revenue estimate, director email, sector analysis (coming soon) and the
fields produced by Insourcia in search or export are reserved to subscribing
organizations. Requested without a subscription, they are neither served nor
charged, and the response says so.

The credit risk score and the revenue estimate are served on request: each costs
5 credits per company, charged once whatever the number of fields or columns of
the group requested. The company profile, at 1 credit, does not include them;
it includes the press.

## Balance and access errors

| 403 | `subscription_required` | The requested data is reserved to subscribers | Subscribe, or remove the field from the request |

A request refused for one of these reasons is not charged.
